For some reason I wasn't expecting such an epic and tuneful brand of black metal. I figured it'd be more along the lines of the kind of outré, lo-fi and bestial UGBM I tend to lean towards, but this is a pleasant surprise nethertheless! Don't overlook this if you're a fan of Prosanctus Inferi, Nexion or Abgott.

Bloody Hell. This is good stuff. Otherworldly drones on an epic stereo scale, with some truly beautiful moments of Satie-esque piano sequences. I love the percussion in 'Entering the Realm of Dis Pater' - as if the drum is broadcasting from another galaxy. Some soaring Blade Runner synth swells throughout also, but done in such a way that this is a very unique album with influences but ultimately this is 'Idylls' own unique sound and experience. Look forward to checking more out.

A triumphant piece full of atmospheric synthesizers that set the tone and soundscape perfectly. Forest Shrine is able to use their music to create an image in your head. This sounds like spring. 4/5
